Sensory Processing

Individuals who atypically process sensory input (sensations from vision, hearing, smell, taste, touch, body position, and movement) can experience difficulty with everyday function, social situations, and work environments. Sensory processing differences can show up as:

·      Hypersensitivity to or distress caused by certain sensations.

·      Anxiety around or avoidance of certain situations – even when they are situations that a person wants to participate in.

·      Difficulty navigating social situations due to distraction or missing social cues

·      Chronic overwhelm or fatigue

Horizon View Functional Therapy offers sensory processing assessment and treatment interventions for adults whether or not sensory processing issues have been previously diagnosed. You will learn about how you perceive the world and your own sensations, and gain strategies to cope and manage so that you can live your life to the fullest as you are.
